The AI Video Wars Just Exploded. Who's Winning?

Get the latest on Hailuo 02, Midjourney Video, and Seedance 1.0, and see how they really stack up.

Hey,

What a crazy week in AI video generation! It feels like everything has shifted. The tools that were good for certain tasks yesterday have already been challenged by new ones today.

But as I always say, this is why the skill is more important than the tool. If you know the art of writing a great prompt and can "think the AI way," you can adapt to anything. The tool itself doesn't matter as much because you already have the core creative skill.

To help you navigate this, I’ve been testing them all. And believe me, I mean all of them. This is my research to guide you on which tool is best for your needs right now.

Here's the lineup:

1. Hailuo 02 — The Mind-Blowing Newcomer

This model is a serious leap forward. It delivers up to 1080p output and 10-second clips with insanely accurate prompt following, dynamic motion, and some of the best understanding of physics I've seen yet. It’s a game-changer.

2. Midjourney Video 1 — The Long-Awaited Release

Midjourney has been promising a video model for a long time, and it finally came out last night. I'm still putting it through its paces, but the initial results look better than many other players. They are still finalizing the cost, but they claim it will be cheaper than other video generators. I still need to test fast motion and physics on it.

3. ByteDance's Seedance 1.0 — The Short-Lived King

ByteDance launched this powerful new model that produces 5-second, 1080p clips with multi-shot sequences and consistent characters. It was so good it was briefly ranked #1 in benchmarks, beating both Veo 3 and Sora. But in the world of AI, a day or two is a lifetime!

4. Google's Veo 3 — Still My Top Pick (with a catch)

For me, Google DeepMind's Veo 3 still holds the top spot for quality. However, it's not officially launched in India yet, and it's incredibly expensive, even if you're using it through a third-party wrapper. I haven't been able to test its cheaper "fast" version for image-to-video quality. It's frustrating when amazing tech is developed by Indians for the world, but not for India.

Bonus Update: Krea AI Evolves!

Amidst all the video news, Krea AI continues to evolve and keep up with the competition. They just launched the Krea 1 image model in collaboration with Black Forest Lab (the company known for the impressive Flux model). Best of all? You can go try it right now for free!
